Virgin media’s inauguration of its 44th store will also enable visitors and consumers to have their first brush with the company’s 3D TV technology. The 3D TV demonstration which will be conducted in the new store will be the first ever demo of its kind in the UK.

Virgin Media seems to have taken the bull by the horns by its decision to go for a live demo in order to match rivals Sky’s claim of offering 3D TV as a regular service from 2010 onwards. Virgin’s 3D TV runs on a V+ box and the company is sure that its cable network can carry through signals if customer demand justifies it.

Virgin hopes to boost interest in the product with the demo in its new store on Oxford Street, which will also have other company products like broadband, netbooks and V+ HD box. According to company sources, the store has been designed to let prospective customers browse through offerings and also use and assess the functionality of all products before they choose to buy them.

A one-day contest has been declared for all visitors participating in a prize draw on the day of inauguration. The prizes will include a £1300 Virgin Media bundle with broadband, a Freedom netbook, a V+ HD box and a landline set, making up a comprehensive and attractive package. Peter Taddeo, ED - Sales in Virgin Media, expressed the company’s expectation for sustained growth and reiterated its constant endeavours to bring new technology to customers.
